170 DECARES OF FUTURE GRAPEVINES CONSECRATED ON TRIFON THE PRUNER’S DAY

The Deputy Mayor of the Spatial Planning and Infrastructural Development Office for the Municipality of Vidin, Svetoslav Skorchev, was among the guests invited to the February 14th celebration organized by Bononia Estate Ltd. It took place at the vineyards between the villages of Gomotartsi and Koshava, Municipality of Vidin. Among the other guests were Rosen Zhivkov, MP, the Deputy District Governor Lachezar Popivanov, various municipal counsellors, employees and workers of the company, and residents of both villages.

Archimandrites Isaac performed a sacred water ceremony wishing well to all in attendance, the proprietors and their families, and wishing them health, prosperity, and a good and wealthy year ahead.

Svetoslav Skorchev delivered a celebratory address to the Yotov family (the company owners) on behalf of the Mayor of the Municipality of Vidin, Dr. Tsvetan Tsenkov, saying: ‘These traditional celebrations held for so many years make for a wonderful occasion to show your efforts and intentions to revive this beautiful region of the Municipality of Vidin. Your company is well deserving of becoming one of the leading grape growers and winemakers, whose high quality production represents our country around the world in a most dignified manner. I congratulate you for expanding and improving your business and creating new jobs for the people of this region.’ Skorchev wished the whole team of Bononia Estate health, prosperity, and protection by St. Trifon.
After the ceremony, the guests performed the traditional grapevine pruning ritual together with the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality.
Bononia Estate Ltd cultivates more than 1,330 decares of grapevines in the territories of the villages of Gomotartsi and Koshava. The wines produced by the company are gaining more and more popularity and enjoy a good reception on the domestic and international markets. Today was the consecrating ceremony of the future 170 decares of grape vines.
